Goals

Acquire knowledge and strategies to apply the principles of structured teaching and visual supports in the educational care of students with ASD, taking as reference the philosophy and principles of the TEACCH Program.

At the end of the course you will be able to:

- Understand the fundamental principles and philosophy of the TEACCH Program.
- Know the concept of structured teaching and its usefulness in educational intervention with students with ASD.
- Identify educational needs that can be addressed through adequate structuring of the environment.
- Understand the importance of organization and anticipation to facilitate the participation and autonomy of students.
- Know different types of visual aids and their possible educational applications.
- Select the most appropriate visual aids based on the characteristics and needs of the students.
- Incorporate visual resources to facilitate the understanding of spaces, activities, routines and sequences.
- Promote more understandable, organized and predictable educational environments.
- Develop professional skills and competencies to provide an educational response tailored to students with ASD.
- Transfer the principles of structured teaching to common classroom situations.

What prepares you

This course prepares you to incorporate structured teaching and visual supports in educational practice with students with ASD, helping you create more organized, understandable and predictable environments.

You will learn to use strategies inspired by the TEACCH Program to structure spaces, times, activities and routines, as well as to use visual resources that help students understand what they should do, how to do it, for how long and what will happen next.

The training will allow you to expand your professional resources to promote the understanding, anticipation, participation and autonomy of students with ASD and offer an educational response more adapted to their needs.

This course is aimed primarily at teachers and professionals in the educational field who work or wish to prepare to work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
